(1) No, it doesn't matter. Not sure if the search function works well on this forum, but this has been covered quite a number of times in prior threads.
(2) Yes. Good grades on recent courses will demonstrate that your GPA wasn't due to lack of brains, but lack of effort, which is the lesser of two evils. Alex Chu alex@mbaapply.com www.mbaapply.com http://mbaapply.blogspot.com |

Thanks Alex
The search feature doesn't work too well on this forum so I do have a follow up question that may have already been answered elsewhere (sorry) In light of your comments I plan on taking calc, stats, econ and accounting. What course level should I take for these? - In college I took introductory courses for calc, stats and accounting and got grades from C to B. Should I retake an intro course or should I aim for an intermediate level? - No clue as to what Econ class I should take given that I majored in it. My grades in macro classes were lower than micro if that's any help Thanks again! |

It doesn't really matter what level, so long as they are undergraduate level courses. You won't get brownie points for taking some hardcore course that fails half its students or anything.
Don't over think this. Just take 2-3 quant courses that you find reasonably interesting (I know that can be hard, but at least humor yourself into believing that calculus can be oh so fun) and that best fit your schedule. Alex Chu alex@mbaapply.com www.mbaapply.com http://mbaapply.blogspot.com |
