Hi,
I noticed that there seems to be a new section on your website called Course Downloads. Do you think it would be a good idea to plug in the summary of the work I have done at this point? I sitll have a few guides left to catch up on that have already been covered in the course. What would you tell your students about these downloads?
Thanks,
Carla

It really depends on whether you would like to organize your study with these tools. If you've got a method that works really well for you, you may want to stick with it.

You must be at least halfway through the course if you've done Word Translations, so you might consider just starting to use the tools from here and seeing how they work for you. If you find them very useful, then you can take the time to plug in your older data - but I wouldn't do that to start. First, figure out from your current work if you like the tools, because it will take a while to plug in all the data from so many classes.

And let us know what you think! These are new tools we're posting, so we'd love feedback on what works and what doesn't work.

Hi Stacey,
I found those two useful tools the other day when I went to view an online lab. I must say that both of those look pretty sophisticated to me. However, I have been using another format of my own for my study plan and for what I practice.
However, the MG study organizer looks really great to me because it categorizes everything into what you are supposed to be studying in the course. I wish that I had found those "tools" before this. I think that they are very well done.

Hey,
Quick question on the course downloads; specifically the Study Organizer; I just downloaded it last night and I want to be sure of a few things;
1. Does it reflect the newere strategy guides? B/c it seems to be somewhat out of order, i.e. asking me to do PEDMAS & Strategies for DS prior to doing Divisibilities and Primes.
2. If it is in order; i'm assuming i should just skip around to follow it; i was somewhat confused by that though and just wanted to know.

Let me know and thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Melie_Mel,

To answer your questions -- the Study Organizer does follow the newer Strategy Guides. The key point is that the Study Organizer preserves the fundamental focus on topics from the broad Course Syllabus but adds timing drills and cross-topic approach drills. As a result, those particular drills do draw from topics that you won't have covered in depth yet in class or on your own. So it might look like it's skipping around on topics, but make sure you look at the Goal column (column H) to see the point of the exercise.

Hope that's helpful!

Chris

Hi Andrew,
Are all of the new strategy guides different from the ones that I used for my online class that ended on May 6? I know that you just put out those two new ones for critical reasoning and reading comprehension. Are the other six strategy guides pretty much the same as the old ones?

I am asking that question because I want to use the study organizer and the OG question tracker for the prep work that I want to finish before I take the GMAT at the end of September. I am going to purchase the new CR and the RC strategy guides in the next week or so, too. I looked at both of those study and practice aides in detail, but I guess I will find out if they work well for me once I get back to doing my prep work. I plan to follow the study organizer, the new course syllabus, and the OG question tracker, to the letter. I really like it that you added more tips in your new class recordings, on how to study effectivey for the test, too.

I could use some more advice on the best way to use the study organizer and, especially with the OG question tracker.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,

The new strategy guides are, with the exception of critical reasoning and reading comp, almost identical to the old ones. You shouldn't have any difficulty using the study organizer with your old books.

Regards,

Jad
