My GMAT score was 710. Verbal 36; Quant: 50; AWA:5.

My profile:

32 year old Indian female
US greencard holder
Married, 2 kids
Fulltime job in IT. 9 years of experience.
Masters in engineering from IIT.

Is my verbal score too low for Executive MBA prgram from top schools(I am aiming at wharton). should I retake the exam.

I never got below 40 in any of the diagnostic tests. so, the verbal score was little disappointing to me.

I appreciate your response.

What was the percentile for verbal? I can't remember what 36 is off the top of my head. Generally, if it's at (or above) the 80th percentile, you should be okay even for top programs (as far as your GMAT score is concerned, anyway).

Also, post your question in the admissions consulting thread - they have a lot more experience with this particular type of question!

You should look into the Average GMAT score of wharton applicants to the specific program you are interested in. If you are avergae you should be OK but make sure every other piece of your application shines as birght as possible.

Good advice, Christian. And, yes, even for the top schools, 80th percentile for a subscore (math or verbal) is generally considered fine.
