GMAT score and getting a Consulting Interview

I will be attending Ross this fall (unless i get off the WL at Kellogg) and have a question regarding gmat scores and
getting a consulting interview.

Will GMAT scores be a factor in getting interviews for the top consulting firms? I'd like to know
if retaking the GMAT is something I should consider.

Undergrad GPA 2.9 (elec engr @ UCLA)
6 graduate courses at Stanford (mgmt science and engr) GPA 3.6
GMAT 690
7 years as an engineer at a large high tech firm

Clearly my credentials aren't spectacular and GMAT score is the only thing I can improve now.
However, I've taken it 3 times already - the first two times being two or three years ago

Any insight greatly appreciated
Thanks

Thank you for your inquiry.

Some banks and consulting firms are indeed known to ask for GMAT scores when interviewing. If I were you, I would take advantage of the early access that you now have to the career services office and inquire with the Director and also connect with the President of the Consulting Club at Michigan and pose your question to him/her as well. They should be more than happy to spend a few minutes answering the question of an admit and they will admittedly have more current knowledge of whether your scores are competitive than me.

Sincerely,
