When I am answering RC questions, I always do an outline, etc. but I'm finding that I am still going back to the passage for answers instead of looking at my skeleton. This may be because my outline/skeleton is not what it should be? Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi - sorry for the delay in responding.

no, this doesn't necessarily mean that there's a problem. in fact, you SHOULD be going back to the passage for almost all the problems; the only problems on which you shouldn't have to look back at the passage are BIG PICTURE questions (the ones that ask about the passage as a whole: main idea, tone, author's purpose, blah blah blah).

on any problem dealing with the specifics of the passage, you should most certainly refer to the text of the passage; the point here is to use your skeleton as a table of contents, which will guide you to the proper place in the passage. you WILL need to refer to the passage for all but the easiest specific problems, though, as the level of detail-oriented nitpicking in the problems is quite high.
