 Post subject: patchwork of greenfields

[Deleted because source is 1000SC - please see my note below.]

In questions having 'one of the Xs that (verb)' the verb agrees with X .. and is plural

What about questions like these where 'patchwork of fields that surround(s)' .... should it be surround or surrounds and why ?
It is clear that "bustles" should match with patchwork and hence singular ... but am not clear on surround(s)

ps : Source of the Question is test magic forum

"Of" is a middlemen. In sentence it is mentioned "the patchwork of green fields" .. Patchwork is the subject and not "green fields" which follows "of". Patchwork is singular and thus needs a singular verb "surrounds". I hope this answers your question.

What is the OA?... I think it is E

I will go with B. After the last comma it has "many of whom" which modifies the preceding "farmers" correctly.

Did test magic write this problem or did you just find it posted there? The source needs to be the author of the problem - the company or person who wrote it. Please advise - if you don't reply or don't know the author, we will have to delete the question. :(

I do not have the idea of the SOURCE as such because is not stated in the forum

Would appreciate if you could answer it based in the above information.

PS : Since 1000SC just collects Qs from various online surces am not sure if 1000 SC can be the ORIGINAL source of any SC

1000SC is a banned source precisely because some of the questions it lists are copyrighted material that 1000SC has reproduced illegally. As you noted, we can't trace every question on the list back to its original source. However, a decent proportion of the questions in that source are from official printed source and are, therefore, reproduced illegally, so the entire source (1000SC) is banned. I'm sorry we can't help you with this one, but we don't want to be sued by the proper owners of the material!
