Yeah, I'm not quite sure what this problem is asking. It could mean one of at least 3 things:
1. If one sock is selected at random, what is the chance that the next sock selected will be of the same color?
2. If one sock is selected at random, what is the chance that the next two socks selected are the same color as the first one?
3. If one sock is removed, what is the chance that two socks selected from the remaining socks will match?
Etc.

Can't really answer it the way it's written right now... :[[/i]

1. If one sock is selected at random, what is the chance that the next sock selected will be of the same color? I think that is what it is asking. Ron, please comment. Thanks!

How would one solve this question?

The chance of picking a black sock 1/50, then picking another black sock 19/49.
Hmm, stumped!??
