I wrote my GMAT last day and scored a 690 (Q:49, V:34). I am an Indian male and have done my engineering in biomedical instrumentation with a GPA of 9.54/10. I will have 4 years of experience by the time I join B school next year. I have all my work experience as international work experience in Singapore with one of the leading investment bank. Currently am working with wealth management branch of the same bank. I am interested in general management full time courses with focus in later part in Operations and Strategy.

I will like to get a feedback of how good my profile is to get an admit from my target schools like Tuck, Ross, Darden, Kellog, Cornell with this score. I have to do my MBA next year as its the best year for me both socially (family ) and career wise. My focus is on schools with strong general management curriculum with experiential or case study teaching methodology and excellent team work culture.

Please provide your inputs!

Hi amit.rajrappa,

Thanks for writing in. A 690 on its own should allow you to be in the mix at all the schools you mention, and probably most competitive at Darden and Cornell. As you likely know, the Indian male engineer category is usually quite large, so it will be important for you to differentiate yourself through leadership experience, post-MBA goals, and other non-work activities, to the best you can.

Good luck!
