Hello,
Would someone be able to provide additional clarity around the answer to question #4 on pg 21 of the number properties book?
Given that 8 is not a factor of g, is 8 a factor of 2g?
I feel like there is a fundamental concept I am missing.
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
for a g to be a factor of 8 you need three 2's. With 2g you now know for sure that you have one 2. You don't know whether g contains additional two 2's if any at all. g could be five for example....If g was five, then no, 8 is not a factor of 2g. But if the g is 4 then you have three 2's in 2g. So maybe - that is why you have to test different numbers...
Good luck - I can tell you are just starting and trust me, it does get easier!
