I faced the name match issue before, so I know how problematic this can be. I was about to register for the GMAT, but I paused a bit and looked into my passport. It's a bit different:
Passport: S.M. Mahbub Murshed (Does not tag/categorize different parts of the name)
Registration: S M Mahbub Murshed (First: S M Mahbub) (Middle:) (Last: MURSHED)
I tried to change it online, it won't let me do it. I created another account, it will need approval and may not be done in two days.
So I called the customer service to correct this problem. The person picked up the phone said it will not be a problem, since the difference is just the dots. When I asked, what do I do if the person in charge don't allow me to take the test? She checked with someone and reassured me.
But still I can't believe it, since the mba.com website says the name must match "exactly".
What do I do now? Wait for the second account to be active or register using the name without the dots?

Interesting! My other profile with correct name (S.M. Mahbub Murshed) is now approved. But it now shows my name as S M Mahbub Murshed. Looks like they removed the dots manually.
To be on the safe side, I will go ahead and register with this new account.
I also sent an email to the customer service. Let's see if they provide more information.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. Do let us know what finally happens; another student might be in your position in future, so whatever you can tell us will be really helpful!

I emailed the customer support. They requested me to send a scanned version of the passport (or fax). After I did that the issue was corrected.

Thanks for letting us know!
Okay, if anyone has the same problem in future, call to ask whether you can fax a copy of your passport to clear up the problem.
