if y>= 0, what is the value of x?

1) |x-3|>=y
2) |x-3|<=-y

the answer is B, statement 2 alone is sufficient.

How do we solve this question?

Thanks! Could you please repost it in the GMAT Prep Math forum? gmat-prep-math-f30.html That is the appropriate forum for that source. Thanks!
