 Post subject: In the rectangular coordinate system...

There was a discusison previously on this which is still not clear for me.
The question is from GMATprep test.

In the rectangular coordinate system, are the points (r,s) and (u,v) equidistant from the origin.

(1) r + s =1

(2) u-1 -r and r=1-s

Can someone please from manhattangmat explain the theory behind this one. Thank you.
