Gmat prep data sufficiency question

If x is a positive integer, is x < 16?

1. x is less than the average (arithmetic mean) of the first ten positive integers.
2. x is the square of an integer.

The is A. Why?

1. Average of first ten positive integers is 5.5, so restating 1: x is less than 5.5 = sufficient
2. X is the square of an integer = clearly insufficient
