 Post subject: GMAT dilemma
Post Posted: Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:55 pm
Hi, I have been a greddy guy. I scored 720 last month but was scoring 750-780 in my test scores so retook the GMAT.
Now, I got 680 (4 points drop in V and 1 point drop in Q).

I read in many schools' FAQ that we just need to mention the score we need the adcom to consider.
How does this latest fiasco of mine sound to adcom.

Please help guys.

First, it's hardly a fiasco.

The stock market is a fiasco. The credit crisis is a fiasco. The state of the economy, environment, war in the Middle East, etc. is a fiasco.

But getting a few points lower on a GMAT re-take is hardly a fiasco. An adcom will question your judgment for having retaken the exam with a high score, but it's hardly fatal.

Just report the higher score - schools really only care about the higher score.
