Dear MGMAT Staff,
On page 25 of MGMAT Sentence Correction Strategy Guide (Edition-4), there is a sentence:
1) No matter how much work it may require, getting an MBA turns out be a wise investment for most people.
Is it ok to say "Getting an MBA"?
Being a non-native English speaker my understand is that "an" can only comes before the words starting with one of the 5 vowels (a,e,i,o,u).
Regards Farukh

We decide on such exceptions phonetically,
The rule is, use a if the next word following it starts with a consonant sound. Use an if it starts with a vowel sound.
an hour...hour (starts with O because H is silent)..Try saying it..
Similarly, MBA starts with e...(em...beee..aaa)...
sounds funny ...Eh....???
Sad but true..:)
