Hi All,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. But I am planning on taking a MGMAT course in late March and then taking the GMAT in late May. Considering the extreme rigor around the MGMAT course, I want to be extremely well prepared in order to get most out of the course (and a 700+ score!). So, I have been studying on my own since the beginning of Jan. just reviewing what the test is all about, as well as doing a deep dive into basic math skills (as math is not my forté). I've read the MGMAT Foundations of GMAT Math cover to cover essentially. What else can I do from a strategic point of view to better ready myself for the course in March? I'd like to take the information learned in the foundations guide and start to migrate it into the questions problem solving and ds questions (strategically of course). So that leaves me with two questions:
1) Is there a strategic way of attacking both PS and DS questions? I don't think it would benefit me if I just started to answer questions without any rhyme or reason.
2) Is there a way to best align this pre-work strategy that would best ease into the MGMAT curriculum?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

HotelGUY! :)

Hi,

It sounds like you have been doing a lot to prepare, and you've been doing pretty much what I would have suggested anyway, namely, working on foundations of math.

The good news is that our course really does take you through everything you need to know (as long as you have that basic knowledge of math down already) so it sounds like you're well prepared. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about strategies for PS and DS questions, as these will be covered in class (in fact, session 1 tackles DS right off the bat!)

The only thing I would suggest instead would be to go ahead and take the foundations of math workshops, which are free with the course. If you're sure you want to take one of our classes, then sign up for the one you want, and after doing so you can sign up for the workshops for free. If you're still unsure of what class you want to take, then sign up for the workshops, and the price will be deducted from the cost of your course when you do sign up. You can see upcoming workshops here: http://www.manhattangmat.com/gmat-prepa ... ne-day.cfm If none of them fit your schedule, as soon as you sign up for your 9-session course you'll have access to recordings of these workshops in your student center.

Hope that helps, but don't hesitate to contact us with further questions!

Best,
