During a one-day sale, a store sold each sweater of a certain type for $30 more than the store's cost to purchase each sweater. How many of these sweaters were sold during the sale?

1. During the sale, the total revenue from the sweater of these sweaters was $270.

2. During the Sale, the store sold each of these sweaters at a price that was 50% greater than the store's cost to purchase each sweater.

I agree answer should be C.

Say cost prioce of each sweater is C $. Then question tells us that Sales Price is C+30.

Statement 1:

Gives us the info that total revenue is 270$.

(C+30) x No. of sweaters = 270.

Can't be solved.

So (1) Not sufficient.

Statement 2

(C+30) - C = 0.5 C

C is known

Still we do not know what total revenue was and so No. of sweaters can't be obtained.

Combining (1) and (2)

C is known and total revenue is known. Ans. can be obtained.

so option (C) seems to be the correct answer.

What is OA?

It does not look like the number of sweaters sold is 4.5.

Statement 2

(C+30) - C = 0.5 C

So, C = 60
Sales Price = C + 30 = 90

Number of Sweaters sold x 90 = $270 (Total Revenue)
Therefore, Number of Sweaters sold = 3

Hope I was able to clear your doubt.
