Manufacturers of household appliances are still urging the public to purchase food processors. The various manufacturers’ advertisements all point out that the prices of these appliances are now lower than ever and that each food processor comes with a lifetime service warranty. In addition, many manufacturers offer sizable rebates to customers who purchase food processors within a given time period. With these incentives, the advertisements contend, people can hardly afford not to purchase food processors.
Which answer choice is a logically prior issue that the manufacturers’ advertisements fail to address?

My take is B

Reason:

The advertisers of any product first show the benefits of the product and try justifying the cost of the product. In the advertisement there is no where mentioned about the uses of food processors or how they are going to benefit the customers.

Whether potential customers have enough uses for food processors to justify purchasing them

Thanks for the explanation.I think readers would wind it helpful if people could post their explanations along with the answers,as most people who post problems already have the OA.They post it either because they dont have the explanation or because they find it disagreeable.

As explained in the reason I mentioned, the first and foremost thing the advertiser has to do is to portray the benefits and justify his sale. If you look into the question, it says "logically prior issue the manufacturer;s advertisements fail to address" .
"A""D" and "E" questions will come once the customer makes up his mind to buy the product, for this to happen, it is necessary that the customer has the justification for his purchase. C, I feel, is not so relevant. Hope this helps..

Perhaps, the Manhattan staff can frame the reply in a most understandable way. Please confirm the OA.

IMO B

A. They are offering life time warranty so there is no issue of repairing.
B. This is correct, as they need to justify whether they need it or not.
C. Not relevant.
D. This is good point but this is a general case for all the products and this will happen everytime we buy something so this is not the ans.

E. This is not relevant, as the author is stressing on the cost, so we need to know whether their cost and needs match or not.
