CR Conclusion

While going through the material, somewhere it was mentioned that conclusion must be arguable either way.

Can give an example and explain, how what does this works.

Hi Raghu,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean that the conclusion should be arguable either way. Can you find where this is stated in the Strategy Guide?

The whole point of the argument is to provide evidence for a conclusion. In other words, the conclusion is the biggest claim! If it were a fact that could not be argued, then it would not require premises to justify it.

For example, the statement "Water exists in solid for as ice." would not be a conclusion, because it cannot be argued; it is simply a fact.

Therefore, the conclusion should be arguable either way (but is, hopefully, supported by the premises in the argument).
