Hi,

Can you please post the remaining answer choices and also mention the source of the question?

Thanks

Sunil

PS: Not sure about the spoke to or spoke with but googling shows that spoke to is American whereas spoke with is British

if we go by the dictionary meaning then
Regarding -- with respect to
e.g. - I have a question regarding your earlier comments
or, the teacher talked to the students regarding their homework

Synomyms of Regarding -- Concerning, of, on, ABOUT, toward (or towards)

'talk with' suggests an extended conversation
'talk to' = the simple action - has the sense of direct communication person to person..

I really feel that we can use either in most of the cases.

But, let's see the following examples-

eg- 1) who is that person talking to Jane -- the first one gives a feeling that you just want to know about the person who is is talking to jane.

2) who is that person talking with Jane -- in addition to the previous meaning, this sentence also means that you are actually saying that Jane is have a conversation with that person.

I hope this helps.

(1) spoke to is correct.
(2) about/regarding can be used interchangeably here.

The GMAT will not test on these issues. This is an invalid question. Please post the source or we will have to close this thread..
