Could someone please explain how to solve this ? I couldn't figure out value of x dollars and hence I selected answer choice E, the OA is C

Hi,

assume, Jan's revenue is J. Each subsequent month is J+x, J+2x etc which makes December Revenue to be J+11x.

(1)

J+11x = 310000

(2)
J+8x which is Sept Rev and J+5x which is June Rev

hence, (J+8x) - (J+5x) = 30000, hence 3x = 30000, x = 10000

From (1) and (2), J = 310000 -110000 = 200000.

So March would be J+2x = 200000+2*10000 = 220000

please DO NOT POST IMAGE FILES FOR PROBLEMS THAT ARE ENTIRELY TEXT-BASED.

we won't answer these problems. the proper protocol is to delete them, but, since another poster has answered this problem, we'll leave the thread up.

in any case, it's especially absurd to post an image file for a problem like this one, as you could almost certainly type the problem into the forum window faster than you could upload the file to a server and paste the link.

when you post image files, not only does the problem become un-searchable, but it also takes FOREVER to load on slower connections. i'm currently on a wireless connection, and i had to wait almost a full minute for the graphic to load. that's not acceptable.

by the way, this is in the forum rules. thank you in advance for obeying those rules.
