Hi,

I've just bought the whole prep set, strategy guides and the books review. However, Im kind lost and do not know what would be the best way to start it. How should I start studying?! Whats the best strategy!? Should I read the 8 guides first (it will take a while) or should I take a CAT exam first?!

I would really appreciate if someone gives me a heads up and some tips.

Thanks

Rodrigo Azambuja

Hi Rodrigo,

I would recommend starting out with the Foundations of Math & Foundations of Verbal Strategy Supplements. These books are meant to be refreshers of high school math and grammar that you may have forgotten over the years; the content is an assumed baseline of knowledge when studying for the GMAT. Once you feel comfortable with that material, you may want to take one practice exam on our website just to serve as a starting point for comparison later on. Next, you can get started with the Number Properties guide. Other than that, you can go through the guides however you see fit. As you go through the problems in the Official Guide, I would recommend tracking your answers and timing in OG Archer (after logging in to your Student Center on our website, click "Homework & Practice" --> "OG Archer"). This way, you'll be able to see which sections/topics you may want to focus your efforts on. Let us know if you have any further questions!

Hi, I was looking for some advice on how to sell my GMAT Exam voucher. My Dad bought it by accident and now I'm trying to get rid of it. What is the best way to go about this? Thanks.

Hi Saad,

I don't think the Exam voucher is transferable to another person, but to get a definitive answer, please contact GMAT Customer Service directly through this website: https://www.mba.com/service/contact-us.aspx.

Hi! I have a question regarding the sylabus for the Prep set. I was just wondering if anyone could elaborate on what to study in weeks ten and on if that's possible. I know each of the 8 study guides has an "Advanced" section and its not addressed in the sylabus.

All the best,

Mohamad Hayek

Hi Mohamad,

I would recommend looking at the MGMAT Study Organizer. This excel document is more in-depth than our syllabus (the syllabus assigns the essentials, while the Study Organizer includes every assignment that you could complete with our materials). To find this document, login to your account on our website, click "Resources & Downloads" and then "Course Downloads" on the right-hand side of the page. You will find a section with information about the organizer and options to download it. Let us know if you have any further questions!
