Hello!
I did not complete any quantitative coursework in college and was contemplating taking a statistics course at my community college. However, I'm looking to apply for Fall 2012 and the current courses available now are for the Fall (ending 12/2011). I would still be enrolled in the course when I send my applications out. Would this affect my applications? What other options do I have? Would an online class such as University of Phoenix which offers classes all year round be a possible option? Thanks!!!

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for writing in. I'm a big proponent of candidates who quantitatively weak taking additional coursework. If you think the best option for you is the community college, I'd suggest that you go ahead and enroll. If you haven't finished the course by the time you want to submit your application, you can write a short optional essay where you say you are taking the course, spell out what you're learning, and offer to submit the final result when you have it.

Good luck!
