The answer says that a, b and c must be > 1. However, nowhere in the text is it stated that the three integers must be prime or > 1. So is there an omission in the problem?

Hi,

Here's the problem:

a, b and c are positive integers. If a < b < c and abc = 286, what is c - b?

I just noticed that the same question has already been answered here - http://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/num ... t5303.html
Sorry for the duplicate thread.

First of all, nice work on catching our mistake. We'll be sure to update that for the next edition.
Second of all, nice work on finding the previous thread. FYI to everyone who reads this: this is the benefit of typing out the question source in the subject line: it makes it easy for others to search for previous posts.
