Hi! Let's start by saying that a 720 is an excellent score, and your outstanding performance on the quant portion really does help you. Business schools, especially those in the top tier, want to see candidates with at least an 80th percentile in the quant section of the GMAT. It seems that you exceeded that, which is great news.
There are a few things to keep in mind as you apply to business school. Your GMAT score is important, but so are other aspects of the application. Strong work experience, where you showcase your accomplishments, is crucial to be competitive for the top schools. In addition, strong outside interests and activities matter, too. They don't just want to see people who are involved in charity work, but those who are leading events and making a difference in their communities. If you are well-rounded candidate and you have a 720 GMAT, I think you will be competitive to get into the top schools.
In addition, if you feel your verbal score is too weak, you could write an optional essay that simply notes that you also were an English major in school. That will give the AdCom more confidence in your abilities.
Best of luck,
Rachel Beck
