Could someone elaborate the meaning of the sentence.
IMO,
Jackie is the subject and the author is talking about him and comparing him to Rosa.
The last part of the sentence , namely, "who refused to move to the back of the bus" should ideally refer to Jackie and not Rosa
Only D comes close to this.

My point is that if the last part of the sentence were to refer to Rosa, perfect tense should have been used, as in :
"who had refused to move to the back of the bus".

The subject has multiple subjects (Jackie & Rosa) and last part of the sentence has Rosa Parks as the subject (who refused - Rosa).

Choice D leaves it ambigous whether it was Rosa or Jackie that showed courage by refusing to move.

Experts, do you agree?
